Dual Fuel and Electric Fuel Elements
DQ's high quality dual fuel kits permit the use of your towel rail all year round. The towel rail is installed as normal but with the addition of a T-piece; this allows installation of the electrical element, which enables you to run the towel rail independently or in conjunction with your heating system.

To have your towel rail completely independent from your heating system there is the electric option. The towel rail is filled with a mixture of water and glycol, before the installation of the heating element which controls the temperature of the towel rail.

As standard the GT heating element is used for dual fuel and electric options, if you wish to use another element please contact us first before placing your order.

To order a dual fuel radiator please call us first to discuss your requirements and we'd be happy to give you an extremely competitive price!

Aladdin Autovent

Fully automatic radiator bleed valve.

Straight, angled or corner valve?

Straight -  Straight valves are typically used where the pipe work comes up from the floor.  These can either be through floor boards or along the skirting board and come up vertically to the underside of the towel rail and valves.

Angled - When used with a ladder style heated towel rail, angled valves are typically used where the central heating feed and return pipes come out of the wall. Angled valves offer a more elegant finish for your installation.  Add a matching sleeve to add a finishing touch.

Corner - These can be thought of as the neatest of all the valves, and is essentially an "angled angled" valve, so best suited for pipework  coming out of a wall.

Manual or TRV (Thermostatic Radiator Valve)

Both types of valves are found throughout homes everywhere, though  there's an increasing uptake of TRV valves due to its energy saving benefits.

Manual - these valves allow you to control the flow of water through the radiator and this controls the heat output. Adjustments are made by simply turning the wheelhead of the valve as much as needed.  Fully opening the valve allows the most flow and maximum heat.

Thermostatic - these are self-regulating valves which control the temperature of a room by regulating the flow of hot water to the radiator. A TRV consists of two parts: a valve that opens or closes to control the hot water flow and a sensor that controls the opening of the valve. The sensor contains a sensing substance, which adjusts the valve opening based on the temperature in the room and via a physical connection between the actuator-spindle and the valve-spindle/cone.

A TRV should not be fitted on a radiator where it is in the same room as the main house/rooms thermostat as this can lead to inaccurate overall house temperature control.
